About to turn 40, Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing to sign the “contract of the century”.
The Portuguese star is set to renew his contract with Al-Nassr, from Saudi Arabia, until 2026, guaranteeing an annual turnover of approximately €200 million.
That amount includes his base salary and even income associated with his image rights, according to Saudi newspaper Al Khabar.
This means that Cristiano Ronaldo will earn around €3.8 million per week, or roughly €550,000 per day – confirming his status as one of the highest-paid athletes in the world.
5% of Al-Nassr
The Portugal captain joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 and is now serving the final six months of his contract with the Saudi side.
This has led to some speculation about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, including rumours of a potential move to rivals Al-Hilal, where Neymar is also set to end his contract.
But the future seems more than certain and the new contract will even strengthen the connection between the two parties.
Cristiano Ronaldo has already said that he wanted to own a team. And that is what the Riyadh emblem will provide: it will offer 5% of Al-Nassr to the Portuguese player.
Performance on the field with the World Cup in sight
Cristiano Ronaldo earns a lot, but he has delivered on the pitch (as he has done since he entered professional football more than two decades ago).
The Brazilian captain has already scored 81 goals in 90 matches for Al-Nassr. Not bad for someone who will turn four decades old on February 5th.
Extending his contract with the Saudi team will allow Cristiano Ronaldo to maintain his competitive levels until the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
