The weather may be cold, but the 2016 winter market was one of the hottest ever. Finance Football put the numbers together and presents you the ranking with the biggest transfers from the January shopping window – the first in the history of world football where China takes the center stage.
The TOP 25 is led by Oscar, the Brazilian who moved from Chelsea to Shanghai SIPG Chinese for a whopping 60 million€. And it’s not just the transfer value that is thunderous: as Finance Football has previously revealed, Oscar is China’s second-highest paid player, with a gross salary of 24 million euros per year. He is second only to Tevez, who pockets 37 million€ a year.
In second place appears the German Julian Draxler, who left Wolfsburg for 40 million€, to join the French champions (PSG). The podium is completed by Gabriel de Jesus of Palmeiras, which cost Pepe Guardiola (Manchester City) nothing less than 32 million euros.
