Benfica renew Adidas deal and announce academy naming rights in €120 million agreement

Benfica have renewed their shirt sponsorship deal with Adidas for a further six years and also announced a naming-rights agreement with the German sportswear giant for their academy and training centre, taking the total value of the deal to €120 million.

The partnership between Benfica and Adidas dates back several decades and has spanned different periods, including the 1983-84 to 1989-90 seasons and continuously since 1997-98.

The new agreement extends the partnership until 2033, in what the historic Portuguese club describes as the “longest-running alliance in Portuguese football.”

As part of the renewal, Adidas has also secured the naming rights to Benfica’s training and academy facilities, which will now be known as the Adidas Benfica Campus.

“Adidas has been part of some of the most significant moments in Benfica’s history, and we are delighted to begin a new chapter in this collaboration. Naming the Adidas Benfica Campus further strengthens this connection and recognises the strategic importance of a space that is fundamental to the club’s present and future, where we develop athletes, nurture dreams and build the next generations of Benfica talent,” Benfica president Rui Costa said.

“Benfica is one of the great institutions in football, with a rich history, a distinct identity and some of the sport’s most passionate supporters. (…) The Adidas Benfica Campus represents the future of the club, a place where talent is developed, ambitions are realised and the next chapter of Benfica’s history begins,” said Adidas general manager of football Sam Handy.

The renewal comes as Benfica and Adidas have just unveiled the club’s 2026-27 kits, with the home and third shirts paying tribute to the 20th anniversary of the Benfica Campus.
