DAZN has secured the television rights for UEFA competitions in the Portuguese market until the 2030-31 season, including the Champions League, with Sport TV holding the first two picks.

In addition to the Champions League, the sports streaming platform has also secured the rights to the Europa League and the Conference League for the four-year cycle beginning in the 2027-28 season.

DAZN will broadcast more than 500 matches from the world’s biggest football competitions during this period, 166 of which are from the Champions League.

Sport TV will retain the first two picks in the Champions League, meaning DAZN can secure the broadcast rights for a Portuguese team in the competition if Portugal qualifies three teams.

Furthermore, DAZN has also secured the broadcast rights for the UEFA Youth League in Portugal for this cycle.

The financial details of this deal were not disclosed. In Portugal, DAZN’s main competitor is Sport TV, owned by the country’s largest telecommunications players – Altice, NOS, and Vodafone – which guarantees it the broadcast rights for Portuguese League matches.

João Diogo Ferreira, Managing Director of DAZN Portugal, states that “the UEFA Champions League is the biggest club competition in the world and has a special significance for DAZN in Portugal, having been with us since day one.”

In Portugal, DAZN’s sports portfolio includes the main European football leagues, including the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, and Eredivisie, as well as F1 and other motorsports.
