The English Premier League was considered the best football league in the world, having accumulated 2,369 points, according to the IFFHS (International Federation of Football History and Statistics).
The English league dethroned Italy’s Serie A, which had held the title of the world’s best league for the past two years.
The Italian championship has now dropped to fourth place in the rankings, behind Spain’s La Liga and Brazil’s Brasileirão.
The Bundesliga remained in fifth place with 1,880 points, while Ligue 1 climbed two positions to sixth in the rankings, swapping places with Argentina’s Primera División.
Liga Portugal therefore remained in seventh position.

The top 20 best leagues in the world include 12 championships from the Old Continent, five from South America, two from Asia, and one from Africa.
There are new entries in the IFFHS rankings: the Saudi League was ranked as the 13th best league in the world, totaling 868.75 points. The Cypriot League also entered the rankings for the first time.
