Real Madrid once again leads the ranking of the biggest shirt sponsorship contracts in the 2024-2025 season, but this time it is joined by two other European sharks.
Los Merengues raise 70 million euros a year from the airline Fly Emirates, the same amount that Barcelona and Manchester United offer with Spotify and Snapdragon.
In the case of the Red Devils, they have just signed a sponsorship agreement with the Qualcomm subsidiary, which replaced TeamViewer.
English domain
The ranking is dominated by the Premier League, which year after year has confirmed its status as the biggest football league in the world.
In addition to United, four other English teams appear on the exclusive list: City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham.
Citizens made €65 million from its deal with Etihad Airways – a relationship that stems from the fact that both the weather and the airline are owned by Abu Dhabi.
Meanwhile, Liverpool and Arsenal have collected €58.5m from their main sponsors Standard Chartered and Fly Emirates respectively.
Tottenham receives €45 million from the insurance company AIA.
PSG and Bayern meddle
In addition to the English times, there is also some predominance of LaLiga.
Atlético de Madrid joins Real and Barcelona in the ranking, but only takes the last position on the list. The Rojiblancos’ contract with Riyadh Air is worth €40 million.
But there are two clubs outside the Premier League and La Liga that stand out in this regard: PSG, whose deal with Qatar Airways yields €68.5 million, and Bayern Munich, which receives €50 million from T-Mobile.
Where are the Italians?
The ranking has surprises mainly due to absences. For example, where are the Italian times?
Juventus used to be at the top, but this season they will play (at least until now) without a main shirt sponsorship, after the end of the agreement with Jeep – which was worth more than €50 million per year.
The two Milan teams will have sponsorships, but they are worth around €30 million.
Another surprise is Chelsea. There won’t be a sponsor on his shirt either. Infinite Athlete was worth more than €45 million, but there was no agreement to renew.
Some of these values were obtained by the Football Benchmark website. Others were obtained through open sources.
However, in none of the cases was the data officially confirmed.
