As we are closing to the year’s, let’s take a look at the most valuable football leagues in the world. No surprise to see that English Premier League is considered the most important league. The league is worth at €8.89 billion, and there is not possible comparison to other leagues in Europe.
Italian Serie A is the second most valuable league, with a market valuation of €5.14 billion, while Spanish La Liga is in third place in the ranking, with a value of €5.05 billion. These figures were collected by Transfermarkt, and they reflect the aggregate value of the players.
In the Big-5, Germany’s Bundesliga and France’s Ligue 1 are in the places 4 and 5, with market values of €4.51 billion and €3.44 billion, respectively.
On the other half of the table, the 5th place belongs to another English league: the Championship is worth €1.23 billion.
The last league with a billion euro valuation is the Portuguese league Liga NOS, with a market value of €1.09 billion. Important note: the Portuguese league includes only 18 teams while the other one above include 20.
Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A, aka Brasileirão, has a value of €966.3 million. In the 9th and 10th places of the ranking are the Russian Premier Liga and Dutch Eredivisie, with values of €943.8 million and €921.6 million.
